Edition #7 — The week we audited our own website

Two products got renamed
No new features this week. Instead we went through agrivisionai.org looking for everything that was no longer true — and found more than I’d like to admit.
FarmOS became FieldOps; AgriSense became FieldSense. Both original names were already taken in agtech: farmOS is an open-source farm management project that’s been running since around 2014, and AgriSense is a UK pest-monitoring company trading under that name since 1984, plus four current agtech companies using it — one of them building the same IoT sensing product we’d sketched.
Better to find that now, while both are still roadmap concepts, than after they ship. The old URLs redirect.
Our own site was underselling the product
The homepage listed disease detection as “on the roadmap” while CropVision has been live inside YieldAI Global for weeks. Same for weather, yield prediction, and the voice assistant. We’d been so careful not to overclaim during pre-launch that we forgot to stop once things actually shipped.
And the Terms of Service still said we were pre-launch — that no product was generally available — on a site now selling a $9.99/month subscription. Fixed.
Building in public means publishing the corrections too, not just the launches.
